Kitchen Ministry Minimize

You may be asking, "The kitchen is a ministry ?";  the answer is a definite YES, and the ways are numerous.  Ministry takes place within and outside of the confines of the kitchen and is both supportive and direct.

Our weekly concessions at "Heavenly Grounds" promote fellowship by giving people a reason to stay around after services, visit with friends and make new acquaintances.  Catering and other meal services are offered to assist in events being sponsored by other GT Departmental Ministries and to individuals in our congregation.  In past years, we have assisted with various events, including the Illinois Prayer & Bible Conference, many Women's Ministries events, the annual Valentine Theater Dinners, several dinners/luncheons for Little People's Prep School, Royal Rangers dinners, the Sonicflood concert, LifeBuilders retreats and various drama productions.  We have also provided service to our church members through funeral dinners, birthday celebrations and wedding receptions.

Net proceeds from concessions are donated monthly to ministries within GT and to organizations outside of our church.  The Kitchen Ministry has also donated proceeds from some events to ministry outreaches.  Since the kitchen opened in September 2000, God has richly blessed the Kitchen Ministry and has allowed us to bless many other ministries.

We always look forward to bringing in new members to our ministry team to meet the even greater number of ministry opportunities that will be offered us.

The Kitchen Ministry at GT is organized by Karen Ellis.  For more information about the GT Kitchen Ministry, please:  contact the GT church office.
