Pray First – 21 Days of Prayer

At GT Church we want to be a people of prayer. The simple cry of our hearts has been, “Pray First.” In every situation, whether good or bad, we try to pray before we act. Many times people act first and then want God to bail them out of that situation, but prayer should be our first response, not our last resort.

Understanding the necessity of prayer is not enough. In order for it to become a part of our life, it needs to become something we look forward to doing. I’m convinced most people don’t enjoy prayer because they have never been taught how to pray. That’s where this simple prayer guide can help. Using several prayer models out of the Bible and having some guides to make it more personal, this booklet is designed to bring joy into your time with God. When you discover the beauty of daily conversation with Him, you’ll experience the presence of God that will change your life.

Once you learn how to pray, prayer can become a part of everyday life. And then…

Before the day begins…

Before you go to bed…

Before you go to work or school…

Before you send that text…

Before you eat, drive or travel…

When bad things happen…

Before bad things happen…

In every situation – PRAY FIRST!

PRAYER CHANGES EVERYTHING!

Christmas Eve 2017

Join the GT Church family in celebrating Christmas Eve! Our Christmas Eve services will be at 6 and 9 p.m. on Sunday, December 24, 2017. There will be incredible music, a story for the kids, and a dramatized Christmas message sure to inspire you.  Make GT Church a part of your Christmas tradition and join us on Christmas Eve at 6 and 9 p.m.

Christmas Offering 2017

Part of celebrating Christmas at GT is receiving our annual Christmas Offering. This Christmas, we are asking you to make Jesus the top priority in your gift giving. Please consider giving a special offering over and above what you normally give. This will greatly help us continue to be the light God calls us to be in our community. Here are three projects your Christmas offering will fund:

  • Benevolence Ministry — Directly meeting the needs of many hurting people in our church family.
  • GT Food Pantry — Restocking our food pantry shelves so we can continue to feed the hungry in our GT Church family.
  • Church Building — Continuing to be good stewards of this beautiful property God has given us by taking care of the unexpected maintenance issues we have encountered this year.

It’s amazing what God can do when we all give our part! Our special Christmas Offering collection will take place during all three of our services (8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 a.m.) on Sunday, December 17. If you would prefer to give online, just designate your gift “Christmas Offering”.

Merry Christmas!

Due to the many recent disasters our country has experienced, plus other tragic events, blood donations are in great need.  GT Church will be giving back and hosting the American Red Cross Holiday Blood Drive on Thursday, December 14 from Noon to 6:00 PM.  Our goal is to collect 50 units of blood in six hours!  We can do this!  Signing up to give blood is now easier than ever!  Click on this link and choose a time to donate!  Please share with your friends in the Greater Decatur Area!  If you would like to volunteer at the blood drive in registration or in the canteen, please email Pastor Beth at beth@gtchurch.com.
